Area with tangrams

To practice solving area and applying different formulae, students made designs with tangrams. They solved the area for each shape then added the sum of each shape together to find the total area of their design. We haven't finished yet but here are some pictures of their designs. Very creative!

Grade 7 Geography assignment

For the next few weeks, grade 7's are working toward a 10 minute presentation (including 5 minutes of discussion and questions) on a country of their choice. This week most grade 7's picked their place and have started research. If you are interested in seeing the breakdown of information included, I have pasted a picture below. Students are printing off information, in their own words, to read from during the presentation. They are not meant to be reading from their slides. If you're interested to see their progress, or assist with direction, they can access their slideshow from home on the cloud.
